Save energy and money

If you want to reduce your home energy costs, the easiest way is to turn the thermostat up or down. In fact, you probably won’t notice a difference of 2 degrees either way — and the savings can be substantial.

However, if you want to lower your bill even further each month, here are some additional tips that are relatively easy to implement:

1) Plug or fix the drafts. Even in newer homes, air filtration can occur at windows and doors. So, check around your home for drafts. Windy or cold days are the best days to check. Then, get any drafts you find repaired or, at least, temporarily plugged.

2) Check the attic. Heat rises and can escape through the attic. So, once a year, check the attic insulation for thin or bare spots. The insulation…

Now that summer's here, you'll want to prepare your home and yard for the summer heat. Here are a few ideas to get you started! ☑️ Inspect air-conditioners. If you haven't already, prep air conditioners and fans for their busiest season Clean your outdoor cooker. Give your grill a deep cleaning Polish your porch. Thoroughly sweep porch floors; then mop them with an all-purpose cleaner Wash your windows. If you didn't tackle exterior window washing in the spring, now's the time to get your glass clean. Plan your watering schedule. Train your garden to endure dry days by watering deeply a couple times a week, instead of watering lightly daily. Got any other good tips? When summer comes around, there is nothing like being outdoors. Make your outdoor living space more enjoyable with the following tips:

Plan Ahead: Before designing your outdoor area, have a plan and a vision for what you want out of your outdoor space.

What do you want it to look like?

What is the purpose of creating the outdoor space?

What can you afford?

 

Furnishings: Choose proper furnishings for their function and for the space you want to use. Is it meant solely for entertaining? Is it a peaceful retreat? Is it both?
